Special Optics Inc. offers large-output laser beam expanders, including diffraction-limited optical designs with clear apertures from 10 to over 100 mm, expansion ratios from 5× to 40× and input apertures from 1.3 to 20 mm. Providing high transmission and low wavefront distortion, the expanders can be specified at single and dual wavelengths from 248 to 1550 nm and have damage thresholds of typically 500 MW/cm2. They transmit the entire beam with high wavefront quality. They enable proper collimation and operate in the UV to the IR spectral regions. Used with the company’s F-Theta lenses, they have applications in laser processing and micromachining.
