nLight.jpgThe Pearl fiber-coupled module series has been expanded by nLight Corp. with the addition of a 100-W device with >50% electrical to optical efficiency, achieved employing the company’s nXLT single-emitter diodes with a proprietary optical design. Particularly suitable for disk laser pumping, the device produces 100 W at selected wavelengths from 795 to 980 nm out of 400- or 600-μm fiber that has a numerical aperture of 0.22. The Pearl series devices also are used in fiber and diode-pumped solid-state laser pumping, and in direct diode applications such as plastic welding and direct marking.
