According to the company, the device compared favorably or equally in clinical trials to the femtosecond SBK flap technology in terms of flap thickness predictability, speed of visual recovery, higher-order aberrations and the smoothness of the stromal bed. Featuring a single-use head, the linear and automated device comes assembled and enables one-handed usage. It has motors for head advancement and blade oscillation. The design of the suction ring makes the use of a speculum unnecessary on small fissures.
