lINDUSLASER Rofin-Sinar Inc. is offering its DL series of high-power compact diode lasers. The company says the lasers' small size, low weight and lack of moving parts make them suitable for integration with robotic and other motion systems. They can also replace arc lamps as the pumping source for CW Nd:YAG lasers, providing in excess of 10,000 h of operation, compared with ~500 h for arc lamps. The five models in the series have output powers from 500 W to 2.0 kW. Applications include surface treatment, cladding, welding and soldering.
