lTUNEABLE Newport Corp. has unveiled its model 2010 series external-cavity tunable laser. Based on a Littman-Metcalf cavity, the laser is available in more than 20 diode modules, so the user can scan wavelengths ranging from 632 to 1780 nm by switching the self-aligned module. The 2010 combine <100-kHz linewidth operation and a wide continuous tuning range, and comes in both collimated free-space and fiber-coupled output versions. Applications include laser seeding, process control monitoring, and fiber optic test and measurement.
