MolTech.jpgRefractive Focal-πShaper systems from MolTech GmbH convert a Gaussian laser beam into flattop, “doughnut,” “reverse Gauss,” “trident” or rooflike intensity profiles near the focal plane of a focusing lens installed after the device. The company says that the conversion is accomplished with almost 100% efficiency. Input and output beam sizes are similar, and steep edges and accurate profiles of kerfs can be realized. Systems are available for the near-IR, visible and UV spectra. The beam shaper integrates easily into systems for scientific and industrial applications because of the absence of internal focusing, the easy alignment, the compactness and the quick adaptation to a particular optical setup.
