TechSpec, ground UV fused silica diffusers, have been introduced by Edmund Optics Inc. The RoHS-compliant devices are available in diameters of 10, 15, 25 and 50 mm and in sizes of 25 × 25 mm and 50 × 50 mm. During manufacture, a 220-grit sandblast creates a diffuse surface on the UV fused silica substrate. Each substrate undergoes two orthogonal passes during the blast, resulting in filters that offer uniform diffusion across the surface.
