SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 28, 2008 – Coherent Inc. has introduced two new Legend Elite ultrafast amplifiers that offer specified pulse widths of less than 25 femtoseconds.

The Legend Elite USX-HE delivers pulse energies over 2.5 mJ, and the Legend Elite Duo-USX offers pulse energies over 5 mJ. Both feature E2-Engine regenerative amplifier modules that, according to the company, provide unmatched energy and efficiency from a highly stable platform. They also use BandMax technology, a suite of features designed to ensure stable, short pulse operation.

Coherent-Legend-Elite.jpgThe company’s Micra and Mantis oscillators provide optimal seeding and guarantee stable, wide bandwidth, spectral characteristics.

The two models offer improved peak power and temporal characteristics for applications, including high harmonic generation, ultrafast spectroscopy, x-ray generation and attosecond physics.
