Schott North America Inc. has introduced two LED products, both offering high-luminosity beams for web scanning and surface inspection. The surface-mount device has an acrylic cylindrical lens that can be adjusted to modify the working distance from 50 to 100 mm to generate a focused light source with an illuminance of 400 klx and homogeneity of ±5% in the plateau level. The light beams can be red or white. The chip-on-board device produces illuminance of up to 200 klx and is available in red or blue light.
