Tunable Transponders

A line of tunable small form factor transponders is now available from Civcom Inc. Expanding upon the company’s Free Light family, the 10G 300PIN MSA series is available in two models, one using a lithium niobate and the other an indium phosphide modulator. Both types have a 10-Gb/s widely tunable transmitter and a wideband receiver, and both use a laser covering the entire C-band over distances up to 80 km. The instruments are suitable for long-reach dense wavelength division multiplexing applications.
