BARRINGTON, N.J., Dec. 8, 2008 – Narrow laser line and broadband diode interference filters have been introduced by Edmund Optics Inc. for near-infrared laser diode applications.

With a bandwidth of 1 nm, the narrow laser line interference filters are suitable for systems that require an extremely narrow bandpass. They are used to enhance signal-to-noise ratio of laser-based analytical instrumentation and are employed primarily with gas and diode-pumped solid-state lasers. They are also utilized in the sensor path to eliminate ambient light and allow the sensor to detect the laser wavelength. Edmund.jpg

The filters feature transmissions of > 50% and an OD > 4 from 200 to 1150 nm. Each is mounted in a 12.7 or 24.5 mm diameter metal ring and they are designed for ease of integration using the company’s C-mount optic mounts. They are available for 488-, 514.5-, 532-, 632.8- or 1064-nm wavelengths.

The broadband diode interference filters are suitable for use in the laser path to eliminate noise in the laser diode itself. Each is mounted in a 12.7 or 25.4 mm diameter metal ring. Designed for easy integration using the company’s C-mount optic mounts, they offer > 70% transmission with blocking greater than OD 4. They are available for 880-, 905-, 1300- and 1550-nm wavelengths.
