LEDtronics Inc. has unveiled true-white-light, sunlight-visible LEDs designed to replace incandescent lamps in industrial controls and indicators, where durability and energy efficiency are critical. Instead of using the combined red, blue and green LED chips to produce a white-colored light, the company uses one InGaN blue chip combined with a phosphorous coating to generate a true-white-colored beam. The emission and color of the 20-mA lamps are similar to daylight-color fluorescent lamps, and their color-rendering index is similar to triphosphor fluorescent lamps. The LEDs are available in true white, warm white and incandescent white, and in a variety of sizes and base types.
