tFOREN Leica Microsystems Inc. has introduced the Leica CFM 2 compound forensic microscope for hair and fiber analysis. The instrument displays a split image of two samples, with adjustable control to show from 0% to 100% of the specimens. It has controllable color balance and illumination; both specimen samples are illuminated with 150 W of color-balanced light transmitted through a bifurcated fiber optic cable from an external cold light source. The CFM 2 has one circular rotatable stage and one square stage.
