tMICRO The Accis NC-3005 from Norland Products Inc. is a noncontact interferometric microscope that can automatically measure planar fiber height for up to 18 fibers in one connector simultaneously. Designed to plot the key parameters of array-type connectors, the NC-3005 measures the radius of curvature and the angle of the end face along two axes. It can measure flat and angled multiple- fiber connectors. With the company's multiple-image overlay software, the user can take several measurements across a wide surface and stitch them together for a seamless display of the end-face geometry. The system incorporates a Michelson interferometric objective lens on an inverted microscope with a built-in camera and a computer.
