OphirSpiricon.jpgThe PE50-DIF pyroelectric detector announced by Ophir-Spiricon Inc. measures high-repetition-rate lasers from 193 nm to 2.94 μm, and a single diffuser covers the UV, visible and near-IR. For short pulses, the detector measures repetition rates to 3000 Hz with pulse widths up to 30 μs; for long pulses, it measures repetition rates to 250 Hz with pulse widths up to 1 ms. It has a 35-mm aperture, and the damage threshold ranges from 1 J/cm2 at <100 ns to 40 J/cm2 at 1 ms.
