The EDX-GP energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectrometer from Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is suitable for RoHS/ELV screening. Comprising a semiconductor detector, filters and a high-count-rate circuit, the fully automatic device enables nondestructive measurement of trace quantities of both light and heavy elements as well as of multielement compounds. It offers a screening analysis window and a large chamber for as-is measurement of liquid, solid or powder samples from 13 AI to 92 U. It can switch between 1-, 3-, 5- and 10-mm-diameter exposure areas. The spectrometer performs quantitative and thin-film analysis as well as steel type and product identification.
