Unveiled by Optical Building Blocks Corp., the EasyLife L is a spectrometer for use in luminescence resonance energy transfer (LRET) and general luminescence applications. Using single-shot detection, it measures up to 500 complete decays in 1 s. The decays are analyzed instantly in real time so the user can follow reaction kinetics by plotting the lanthanide lifetime as a function of time, rendering the experiment immune to light scattering, concentration fluctuations and precipitation. Repetition rate is 1 to 500 Hz, optical pulse width is 1 μs FWHM, and temperature range is from 20 to 50 °C. Excitation range is from 200 to 2000 nm, and emission, from 185 to 680 nm, with 900 nm optional. The system is controlled via FluoroScan software.
