OpticalResearch.jpgOptical Research Associates (ORA) has released its LightTools 6.2 illumination design and analysis software for applications including LEDs, displays and luminaires. Backward ray tracing capability reduces the time needed to design and analyze sources, luminaires and projectors. The SolidWorks Link module enables users to build 3-D models in SolidWorks and import them into LightTools, while changes made in one program are updated in the other. The ability to specify materials with multiple phosphor particles, along with their size and density distributions, improves modeling of white-light LEDs.
