Newport Corp.’s Spectra-Physics Lasers Div. has expanded its ultrafast laser portfolio to include the 4W Spitfire Pro XP and the 3.5W Solstice ultrafast amplifiers. The Spitfire regenerative amplifier outputs <35-fs pulses at 4 W of average power at 1, 5 or 10 kHz. The Solstice one-box amplifier delivers 3.5 W of average power at 1, 5 or 10 kHz. Both models offer good beam quality and pulse intensity, according to the company. Applications include time-resolved spectroscopy, terahertz generation, coherence control and high harmonic generation.
