OmniVision Technologies Inc. has introduced the OV9810, a 9-megapixel sensor designed to work with both digital still cameras and high-definition (HD) camcorders. The sensor combines 9-megapixel photography with 1080-pixel HD video on a single chip and features a 1.75-μm OmniPixel3-HS architecture. It delivers low-light sensitivity at 960 mV/lx sec, operates at 8.9 fps at full resolution for imaging and offers video at 30 fps.
