Klughammer.jpgKlughammer Industrie GmbH has released the KL HS and KL HCS hot and cold stages for upright and inverted microscopes. They enable direct observation of material samples during heating and cooling phases and can be operated via a stand-alone or a computer-connected controller. A CCD camera may be connected to view single images or sequences, along with temperature and other data, on a computer monitor. Within the series, stages are available to accommodate temperatures ranging from –190 to 700 °C. Sample areas range from 20 × 20 to 139 × 147 mm. Among the models is a Peltier-based thermal stage that accepts a 35-mm petri dish.
