The NewBlot Western blotting stripping buffer is employed to strip and reprobe membranes used on the Li-Cor Odyssey IR imaging system. Available from Li-Cor Biosciences, this reagent product for protein detection is specifically formulated for use with IRDye 680 and 800CW IR dyes. It removes antibodies while retaining immobilized proteins, and it enables Odyssey nitrocellulose and Immbolilon-FL polyvinylidene fluoride membrane blots to be used up to three times. Qualitative analysis after stripping is possible, and blots may be stripped at room temperature in #20 min without an unpleasant odor.
