BaySpec Inc. has released a 785-nm fiber laser for biomedical applications. The MiniLite delivers up to 500 mW of maximum power and offers a side mode suppression ratio of 40 dB. Designed to enhance analytical Raman spectroscopy and test-and-measurement capabilities, it operates from –15 to 45 °C and in high 85% relative humidity environments. The compact device features point-and-shoot usage, offers reliable operation in harsh environments and has 5-V wall power plug-and play capabilities. It is suitable for near-IR and Raman spectroscopy, confocal microscopy, medical diagnostics, fiber optic sensing and laboratory source applications.
