The left beam path produces quality depth of field, while the right one provides a high-resolution image. The human brain combines the best information from both channels to compose an image. The modular device offers a fully apochromatically corrected 20.5:1 zoom. In the zoom range from 0.78× to 16×, the resolution increases continuously up to 1050 line pairs per millimeter (planapochromat objective 2×), which corresponds to a resolved structure size of 472 nm. The model has a numerical aperture of 0.35 and a working distance of 61.5 mm. Field No. 23 enables a large-surface overview of the specimen.
