BW.jpgA portable Raman spectrometer system with an integrated touch-screen computer has been unveiled by B&W Tek Inc. The innoRam comprises a CCD thermoelectrically cooled to –20 °C, the proprietary and patented CleanLaze laser and a Raman probe that collects data within 65 cm–1 of the Rayleigh line. It delivers spectral resolution of 2 cm–1 and offers network and Bluetooth capabilities. Applications include forensic materials and counterfeiting identification, process monitoring, polymer development, materials science research, feasibility studies, and polymorph and solar cell analysis.
