Selective-wavelength photodiode
NEWBURY PARK, Calif., June 8, 2009 – Opto Diode Corp. has introduced the second in its series of selective-wavelength photodiodes. The ODD-525W, designed specifically for the automotive and colorimetry industries, has an active area of 0.62 mm² and operates between 450 and 570 nm, with a peak sensitivity response at 525 nm. The photodetector has a spectral bandwidth of 70 nm, features low dark current of 30 pA typical and 100 pA maximum, and uses no optical filters. OptoDiode-photodiode.jpg

Applications include interior and exterior auto light dimming, fluorescence detection, color sensors and general daylight detection tasks. Hermetically sealed in a standard TO-46 can package, the device integrates easily into new and/or existing systems. Storage and operating temperatures range from -30 to 85 °C, and lead soldering temperature is 260 °C.

Minimum responsivity is 0.25 A/W, with typical 0.02 at 450 and 570 nm, and 0.30 at 525 nm. Reverse breakdown voltage is 5 V, capacitance is 110 pF, and rise time is 35 ns.
