Andor Technology plc has launched the Clara interline CCD camera, the latest addition to its family of low-light imaging cameras based on Sony’s ICX285 1.3-megapixel sensor. It features deep air cooling to –45 °C for elimination of dark current and a low read noise floor of 3e– rms. It can follow dynamic events via low-noise 10- or 20-MHz readout modes, channeling data through a USB 2.0 interface. Its compact and robust design is suitable for OEM integration. Applications include ion signaling, fluorescence in situ hybridization, spectral and ophthalmic imaging, wide-field fluorescence microscopy and single-molecule detection.
