Bandpass and narrow-bandpass filters with center wavelengths from 15 to 200 μm are available from Lake Shore Cryotronics Inc. Based on a metal mesh technology, they are designed with patterned cross-shaped holes that allow the transmission of light at specific wavelengths. Center-wavelength transmissions have been achieved up to 80% with a center wavelength tolerance of ±0.1 μm and out-of-band transmission down to 0.5%. The filters offer suitable thermal properties with stable and repeatable performance down to 4 K. They measure 1 mm in depth, enabling entry into filter wheels, cryostats and compact optical instruments. Applications include terahertz and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.
