AnaSpec.jpgAnaSpec Inc. has announced the Anti-MMP-1 (Hinge) Collagenase-1 and Anti-MMP-13 (Hinge) Collagenase-3 rabbit polyclonal antibodies, which are designed for matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) research. Specifically raised against the hinge regions of MMP-1 and -13, the epitopes do not overlap the catalytic domain and will not influence the activity of MMP ferment in experiments, according to the company. MMP-1 is involved in tumor development and metastasis, and in rheumatoid arthritis, and is proposed as a therapeutic target for these diseases. MMP-13 is a target for inhibitor screening because of its involvement in diseases such as cancer and arthritis.
