National Instruments Corp. has released an updated version of its NI Vision Development Module, a library of image processing and machine vision functions for multiple programming languages. The Vision Development Module 8.5 features improved edge-detection algorithms that can locate hard-to-find edges such as those found in many web-inspection applications. The version can find edges at 1/25 or better pixel accuracy and offers improved reliability in images with noise. It also can find straight-edged lines and offers improved 2-D code recognition.
