Gamma Medica-Ideas Inc. has announced that a high-resolution CT subsystem now is available as an option or upgrade for its Flex Triumph preclinical imaging platform, which can be configured with up to three such add-ons for multimodality imaging. The subsystem contains a variable-focal-spot x-ray source that enables the user to select high-resolution (≤15 μm) or low-dose (≤1.2 cGy), high-throughput (<1 min) whole-body mouse scans. It also allows micro-CT studies that require high resolution, such as preclinical bone analysis, and permits rapid scanning with the same x-ray tube.
