BioTek Instruments Inc. has expanded its microplate washing product line with the ELx50 filter microplate washer. Based on the company’s automated eight-channel ELx50 strip washer, the new model has a syringe drive fluid delivery system with automated vacuum filtration for unattended processing of 96-well filter bottom plates. Its aspiration carrier may be adjusted with filter pore sizes from 0.45 to 1.2 μm, fluid viscosities and plate designs, which is especially important for cleanup after PCR and multiplex microsphere arrays. Its modular platform also allows for programmable and automated processing of standard solid-bottom microplates used in ELISA and cell-based assays.
