NikonInstruments.jpgNikon Instruments Inc. has unveiled the DS-Qi1 monochrome digital camera for quantitative fluorescence imaging. The CCD camera offers a resolution of 1280 × 1024 pixels (1.3 megapixels) and a 17,000 electron full-well capacity with a read noise of only 8 electrons, providing a dynamic range of more than 2000:1. The camera operates at 10 fps using all 12 bits, and it features a programmable gain amplifier for shorter exposure or work in low-light levels. The compact camera connects via a single cable, and it is controlled through the company’s DS-U2 controller.
