Edmund.jpgEdmund Optics Inc.’s infrared right-angle prisms are used to achieve a 90° light path bend. They are available in three substrates. Calcium fluoride provides good transmission from 190 nm to 7 μm and is suitable for applications throughout the ultraviolet, visible and infrared regions. Germanium’s high index of refraction suits applications in the 3- to 12-μm region, and zinc selenide features high transmission from 1 to 16 μm. The uncoated prisms are suitable for use with well-collimated light sources. The calcium fluoride prisms are available in 12.7-, 25.4- and 38.1-mm sizes. The germanium and zinc selenide ones are supplied in 12.7 and 25.4 mm.
