Dominant Semiconductors Sdn Bhd has introduced a high-intensity RGB (red, green, blue) SPNovaLED (NMRTB-USD) as part of its SPNovaLED series, replacing the existing NMRTB-USS device. The RGB technology enables driving each chip in the package individually to mix and match any requested color, including white, to provide balanced lighting distribution.
Operating current is 250 mA, and typical luminous intensity is 9000 mcd for red, 18,000 mcd for true green, and 4500 mcd for blue.
The LED offers a long lifetime due to its silicone encapsulation and the low thermal resistance of the housing, converting it to a multiLED product. It measures 6.0 × 6.0 × 1.5 mm and has a viewing angle of 125? to ensure good color mixing.
Applications include full color display boards, signage, decorative lighting, and channel and architectural lighting.
