CRAIC-Tech.jpgThe QDI 2010 Forensic microspectrophotometer system is specifically configured to nondestructively analyze many types of trace evidence. Manufactured by Craic Technologies Inc., the system can be configured to image and acquire spectra of questioned documents from the deep-UV to the near-IR. Combined with the company’s Traceable Standards, which are calibrated to comply with NIST criteria, the instrument is suitable for use in forensic laboratories. Applications include comparing dyes in textile fibers, analyzing UV absorbers in clear coats on automotive paints and characterizing gemstones.
