The S7033 and S7034 series of CCD area image sensors from Hamamatsu Corp. deliver quantum efficiency greater than 90% and have a built-in thermoelectric cooler. Designed for low-light-level scientific applications, the devices are suitable for fluorescence spectrometry and for integration into optical and spectrophotometric analyzers. They have full-well capacity of 2.7 million electrons in their horizontal register and can be used as linear image sensors with a long aperture in the direction of the device length when operated in binning mode.
