ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 9, 2009 – Optronic Laboratories LLC has announced that its HSi-300 and HSi-400 hyperspectral imaging systems now have µ-Manager plug-ins.

µ-Manager is a free and open source application software platform for imaging and control of automated microscopes on multiple operating systems (Windows, Mac and Linux) developed by Vale Laboratory at the University of California, San Francisco.
Bundled with ImageJ from the National Institutes of Health, µ-Manager offers a flexible and powerful image capture and processing package at no cost to the user. The HSi-300 and HSi-400 are currently integrated with the Andor iXon electron-multiplying CCD family of scientific cameras and soon will be integrated with Hamamatsu and Photometrics’.
The imaging systems have a proprietary and patented acousto-optical filter imaging module that provides spectral flexibility and switching speed. Applications include remote sensing, fluorescence and transmission, materials identification, biomedical imaging and homeland security.
