GlacialTech Inc. is launching the GlacialLight GL-BR20 5-W, high-brightness LED globes for AC light sockets. The bulbs have a lifetime of 20,000 h and deliver a high luminous efficacy. They reduce environmental degradation through cost-effective energy savings and CO2 reductions.
The lights use standard E26/E27-type, GU10-type and B22-type sockets. There are two models, one for 110 VAC and one for 220 VAC. The sockets are specially designed so the LED can fit any lamp fixture. The lamps are used for home security and floodlighting and for spot, accent, architectural, cabinet, commercial, landscape and hallway lighting, and they do not require a DC driver, reducing costs. The LED lamps can be dimmed.
The AC-LED lights can replace traditional halogen lamps. They are similar in appearance and size, and with the low power comes low heat. The low power consumption and the lack of potentially dangerous by-products such as heavy metals result in a reduced carbon footprint.
Typical luminous efficacy is 26 or 32 lm/W, and the color rendering index is >75 or >70, depending upon the model. Beam angle is 150°.
The bulbs’ dimensions are slightly variable among the various socket types, and for each socket there are two models, one with the luminous flux of warm white (130 lm at 3000 K), and one with that of cool white (160 lm at 6000 K). Operating temperatures range from –20 to 40 °C. The average net weight is 115 g. The bulbs come with a two-year warranty and are CE-, FCC- and UL-certified.
