Lumera Laser has announced an increase in the average power of its picosecond laser family. The Rapid lasers have applications in semiconductor, electronics, solar cell, medical and microfluidics micromachining, as well as in other industries where manufacturers need to drill or cut thin materials without heating them. The lasers, with 50 W of average power, <10-ps pulse widths and repetition rates up to 2 MHz, offer removal rates as high as 30 mm3 per min.
