Newport Corp. has released a colored-glass alternative filter series for applications where steep transitions from blocking to high transmission are required. The 34 long-wave pass thin-film filters are available in four standard sizes and use the company’s patented Stabilife coating technology for harsh environmental conditions. Fully RoHS-compliant, they do not contain cadmium or lead. The company says that their spectral performance is equivalent to or better than that of industry-standard colored-glass filters. Additional applications include spectroscopy, optoelectronics, environmental monitoring, immunodiagnostic testing and DNA analysis.
