Reflective Object Sensor

TT electronics Optek Technology has launched the OPB733TR reflective object sensor for a variety of medical equipment. Measuring 7.62 x 4.06 mm with a PC board-mounted profile of 2.9 mm, the device incorporates a lensed infrared LED and phototransistor element to collimate the light beam for enhanced resolution at a detection range from 10 to 25.4 mm. The sensor’s LED delivers typical peak emission wavelengths of 890 nm and is mounted alongside a negative-positive-negative silicon phototransistor that responds to light reflected by the object being sensed. Its phototransistor output on-state collector current is 0.1 mA at a 1/2-in. distance from the target. Its rise and fall time is typically 15 µs. The surface-mount package is reflow solder-compatible to 260 °C.
