Incubator Microscope Imager

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., March 16, 2010 – Olympus America Inc.’s VivaView MG multigas incubator microscope is a live-cell incubation and imaging system for stem cell, cancer and other research requiring independent control of oxygen and carbon dioxide levels.

Self-contained, it can be adjusted to provide the low-oxygen environmental conditions that stem cell experiments demand. It is equipped with nitrogen purging to regulate oxygen levels and to mimic physiological conditions, and it enables recreation of these conditions during multidimensional imaging. Postacquisition processing, deconvolution and analysis can be performed with the software.

Long-working-distance objective lens options include 10×, 20× and 40× for phase contrast and fluorescence, and 20× and 40× differential interference contrast and fluorescence optics.

The system enables simultaneous observation of multiple locations per dish in up to eight dishes, for up to a week at a time. Each closed-box system comprises an incubator, a motorized inverted microscope, drift-free optics, a camera, a computer and software.
