StarLab 2.00 Software
Apr 2010
Ophir, PhotonicsRequest Info
LOGAN, Utah, April 7, 2010 — Ophir-Spiricon has announced the release of StarLab 2.00 software that converts a PC into a multichannel laser power/energy station. Features include synchronization and display of multiple channels in one window, user-defined and multichannel calculations, and an easy-to-use configuration panel for all channels. It works with the company's smart displays and PC interfaces, allowing users to measure, analyze and record laser power and energy parameters.

The newest version supports the selection and display of multiple channels of data in one or more windows. Each channel can be color-coded and superimposed to track trends for all sensors simultaneously. The software logs data from up to eight power/energy sensors, and data can be time-synched and logged for later review.

New mathematical functions include a scale factor for use with beamsplitters, enabling display of the actual laser output and not just what is impinging on the sensor. The density function shows the power and/or energy density based on a user-defined spot size and shape. New multichannel calculations include ratio (A/B), difference (A-B) and user-defined formulae. A configuration panel makes setup quick and easy.

StarLab 2.00 collects data from proprietary pyroelectric, thermal and photodiode heads using any of the company's laser power/energy meters, PC interfaces or combinations of the two:

Juno: USB laser sensor to PC interface; multiple devices connect up to eight heads to one PC.

USBI: USB laser sensor to PC interface

Vega: compact, stand-alone meter with bright color display

Nova II: high-definition, stand-alone meter with LCD display

Pulsar: high-speed, multichannel USB meter supports data logging to PC, up to 25,000 Hz.

Quasar: wireless Bluetooth meter with range >10 m to PC

The new release is included free of charge with all USBI, Pulsar, Quasar, Nova II and Vega power/energy meters. It works on Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista (32-bit) and Windows 7 (32-bit) platforms.
