HUDSON, N.H., April 26, 2010 — Polarization-stabilized single-mode VCSELs with increased output power are now available from Laser Components IG Inc.

The A4-PL vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser delivers an output of 1.4 mW, which is double the output of the previous model. They are available as a chip or in TO housing. Its emission wavelength is 855 nm ±10 nm.

Developed primarily for use in a PC mouse and for trackball applications, it is also suitable for use in cell phones and other sensor technology.

Additionally, the company offers a single-mode VCSEL at 948 nm, which can be utilized for humidity measurement applications. The SPECDILAS-V-763-MTE-2x4L eight-element single-mode laser diode array is also newly available. Separated by a distance of 500 µm, two rows of four diodes each are equipped with a pitch of 250 µm and mounted on a Peltier cooler.
