Enhanced 25- and 50-mm hyperspectral lenses optimized for peak short-wavelength infrared (SWIR) camera performance have been unveiled by Navitar Inc. The OptiStar lenses have a rugged design and produce high-quality images, good transmission and high performance from the visible spectrum into the short-wavelength infrared region.

They operate from 500 to 1700 nm, with 90% ±5% transmission across the range. The C-mount lenses have a lower f/number than the company’s standard SWIR lenses, and their enhanced design produces better images in dark or nighttime environments. Both lenses are available with manual or auto iris, and they have a focusing range from 1 m to infinity.

Applications include perimeter surveillance, tollway monitoring, border and port security, quality control and aerial imaging.
