The Fastcam MH-4 digital video system from Photron
Inc. can capture images at 10,000 fps with partial resolution or at 2000 fps with
complete 512 x 512 resolution. It comes with four attachable camera heads that each
measure 35 mm3 and weigh <100 g. Designed to fit in hard-to-reach areas, each
system includes a 6-m flexible cable and a tilting camera mount. The camera, which
has 8-bit monochrome and 24-bit color CMOS sensors, can withstand forces up to 100
g. The system may be useful for miliary doctors, exercise scientists and
researchers examining the larynx or heart valves.
