Cobolt AB has announced a new controller for its Calypso lasers, which are suitable for use in flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and sequencing. The unit is specifically designed for OEM integration and comes in a robust metal housing with mounting holes for convenient handling and installation and for optimum heat dissipation. The dimensions of the housing are 178 x 67 x 25 mm, and the controller is equipped with standard connectors for power supply and control signals. It allows remote operation and monitoring of the lasers via digital RS-232 or analog interfaces. The lasers also are available with a CDRH-compatible controller for stand-alone use.
