The Raman Workstation manufactured by McPherson Inc. is a total spectroscopy system that includes a solid-state laser, specialty filters, a sample chamber with laser focusing and signal collection optics, and a 350-nm f/4.8 spectrometer with a CCD and software. Buyers can choose from systems that operate at specific wavelengths between 325 and 830 nm, and they also can opt for a sample chamber that is compatible with cryogenic sample holders for photoluminescence work. Shorter UV wavelengths can be reached using the included prism predisperser. The device is designed to easily detect Raman scattering shifted above 300 wave numbers from the Rayleigh scatter.
