Nidek Co. Ltd. has produced the Auto Ref/Keratometer ARK-530A/ARK-510A and Auto Refractometer AR-330A/AR-310A for ophthalmic and optometric diagnostics. The eye care products combine the measurement methodology called pupil zone imaging, which analyzes an area 4 mm in diameter, and a “superluminescent diode” technology, which has a sensitive CCD that the company says provides sharper, more vivid images than LEDs. Both devices offer a measurement range of —30 to 25 D and can measure pupils down to 2 mm in diameter. Both also have autoalignment and autofocusing in X, Y and Z directions, permitting fast and accurate measurements.
